Art has always been a way of expressing yourself, a medium that doesn't always require the greatest of ability to achieve reasonable results. For a lot of people it's not even about the end result instead it's an almost meditative escape from the general anxiety of day to day living and it's also a way to get to know others. BUT all that is under attack, ARt is being devalued, both through the under funding of the arts and the introduction of Ai. Why learn to paint when you can press a button and "wallar!". Even if you did make a collection of paintings where are you going to exhibit them when the local Art Centre has closed down? This is what we are witnessing so we write about it. (PE)
